Citizen Journalism

Without a doubt the biggest — and loudest — debates I have with other journalists isn’t about politics or religion. No, what we tend to joust about is who and who is not a journalist. Are bloggers journalist? I say yes, some — not all — bloggers are journalist. Plenty of my friends disagree. They say only those earning a buck from “legit” news operations can be called real journalists. An even more boisterous debate occurs when the discussion turns to citizen journalism. You’ve probably heard the term citizen journalism before, but may still be be confused on what that actually means. This video will hopefully fill some of the holes in your understanding. Admittedly, while I think the concept is a great idea, community journalism has been slow to take off.
